Oh, Heck Yes!!
What could be finer than the sound of silence at Gillette Stadium? Boos. And we've been hearing plenty of both tonight. How sweet it is!
Tonight's matchup was perhaps the most anticipated regular season NFL matchup of the year, pitting my 7-0 Colts against the hated New England Patriots.
The Colts destroyed the Patriots 40-21.
The Colts had lost 14 of the last 16 games against New England prior to tonight, so that made tonight's thrashing good on its own...but it was the fact that everybody was saying "yeah the Colts are good, but they can't beat New England", and now that's over...that's the best part.
There's still a long way to go, and in the last 20 years the Colts have let me down more times than I can count...so I'm not going to get over-confident. There's another Monday night battle against Pittsburgh coming up, and then comes the playoffs where there's no margin for error. There are lots of good teams in the AFC, and frankly the Patriots aren't one of them. But for tonight, it's good to savor this, for the psychological and revenge factors if nothing else.
