EDIT: 6/13/05
It took me long enough, but finally here is the picture of FWA tower as of about a month ago.
I'm spending a few days back in Fort Wayne this week, and last night my dad and I decided to go check out progress on FWA's new ATC tower. With the radio scanner and camera in tow, we arrived to see the 200+' giant rising tall above the trees, dominating the south Fort Wayne "skyline". I took several good pictures of it, and I'll add them to this post later. It looks like it is at the point where placing the cab on top is the next step.
It was fun going back to the airport where I spent so much time as a teenager, driving around the field, watching and listening to airport operations. I have a lot of fun at TOL, I've made some great friends at TOL, and I'm within striking distance of one of my lifetime goals, becoming a fully certified controller, at TOL. But sitting out by the runway at FWA, I realized that this is my home...this is where I belong. And hopefully in a few years, it's where I will be once again.
