I had an interesting traffic situation today. I had a single F-16 and a 727 inbound for runway 25. The F-16 entered the overhead pattern, and as he turned base, the 727 was on about a 2.5 mile final or so. I told the 727 to continue inbound, that there was a single F-16 over the numbers that would be rolling out. It got down to 1.5 miles. I told the F-16 to turn as soon as he could, due to the inbound traffic. The F-16 (unusual for them) helped out by turning off about 3/4 of the way down the runway instead of at the end. When the F-16 turned off, the 727 was on a 0.5 mile final, at which point he finally received his landing clearance.
Fun stuff. My training session went really well today, and I'm feeling like certification on Local might only be a week or two away.

Ahh, what the heck. That spacing stuff is way over rated, anyhow. :-D
