Blue Ridge Parkway

A more beautiful drive through the mountains you would be hard-pressed to find. It's hard to imagine how much better it would be in an open-topped vehicle in the fall with all the colors. As it was - a sunny day in late May - it was fantastic.

Along the Parkway there are many overlook areas where you can pull off to the side. Each overlook has a sign marking the location and elevation.

The Parkway is a simple, narrow two-lane road

The pinnacle. By any standard, this is "waaay up there!"

NOTE: This photo set, more than the others, shows how degraded the photo quality has to be in order to fit in my template. Simply click on the photos to view them in a much higher resolution. This works for my other photo posts as well.
