Jeep JK, Revisited

Like an itch that won't go away, so to is the new Jeep Wrangler's appeal to me as my next vehicle. It's everything I want (a convertible, a go-anywhere 4x4) all rolled into one package, uniquely practical as my only vehicle.

Gas mileage information has been coming in from JK drivers around the country, and it is averaging pretty much exacty what I get in my Liberty, maybe slightly better. So nothing gained, nothing lost there...that's acceptable. I didn't go broke when gas was $3.29 this past summer.

Everything else about the Jeep, like cargo capacity, capability, performance, and price, will work out just fine. There's only a couple things left to do...

First is a test drive, that is something I hope to accomplish tomorrow. I don't see any way I won't thoroughly enjoy driving it, but you never know, so getting behind the wheel is the first order of business.

The remaining question mark that has me nearly pulling my hair out is color. The color combination I'm leaning toward is Jeep Green with a khaki top, like the one pictured above (not my picture, not my Jeep). But that's a small lean, at best. Really, all colors except for Rescue Green (the really bright green) are still potential, with Black and Flame Red the next best possibilities. I'm hoping to drive a Flame Red one tomorrow, so that might tell the story there...I'm worried it might be too much of a "chick color", though...

In any event, I should know a lot more by Sunday or Monday.
