Start Spreadin' The News!!

Today was a big day in my air traffic control career, as I got certified on Local Control! What that basically means is I'm able to work airplanes to and from the runways (cleared to land, cleared for takeoff...that stuff) without having a trainer plugged in with me. It also makes me eligible to begin training on Approach Control (radar)...that should start up sometime in early August I learned today.

So although today's accomplishment is a big step, the hard work is really just beginning. Along with working to become proficient on Local, I also have to start studying the complicated world of radar. This will be a tough stretch coming up, but I'm really excited to be making progress toward being a fully certified air traffic controller.
